Director's Message

 The past two weeks have been full of momentum, partnership, and progress. Thank you for the energy, dedication, and commitment you bring to our students every day. From workforce partnerships and program development to student competitions and community outreach, there is much to celebrate at WTC.

Project updates

Open House Success

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our recent Open House. We welcomed more than 100 visitors to campus and had the opportunity to showcase the incredible programs, instructors, and opportunities available at WTC.

Every conversation, campus tour, demonstration, and student interaction helps strengthen our reputation and grow future enrollment. Thank you for making WTC shine.

A New Enrollment Process

Last week marked  the launch of our new enrollment process. This exciting improvement is designed to streamline services and enhance the experience for prospective students.

Thank you to our Student Services, Technology, and Administrative teams for the planning and preparation that made this transition possible. Your hard work behind the scenes is greatly appreciated.

SkillsUSA Competitions

Thank you to all instructors and staff who hosted SkillsUSA competitions over this month.  These events provide valuable leadership and employability experiences for our students while showcasing their technical skills and professionalism.

A special thank you to everyone who submitted competition selections and results to Keri Mintz and Dennis Leigh. Your cooperation helps ensure our students are prepared and represented well as they advance through the SkillsUSA process.

Workforce Connections Matter

Our Electrical and Industrial Machinery Controls students recently had the opportunity to participate in an industry field experience visiting Cardinal Glass and FedEx. These visits provided students with firsthand exposure to industrial operations, automation systems, electrical applications, maintenance practices, and career opportunities within high-demand workforce sectors.

Experiences like these help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application while strengthening the connections between WTC and our industry partners. Thank you to our instructors and business partners for making these valuable learning opportunities possible.

Built to RISE Road Rally

Thank you to everyone participating in this year's Built to RISE Road Rally. The partnerships being formed across Citrus County are helping strengthen WTC's presence in the community while creating opportunities for our students.

To support these efforts, Friday, October 30, has been set aside for liaison visits and planning time. We encourage instructors to use this opportunity to complete Road Rally visits, build meaningful employer relationships, and identify future partnership opportunities.

Made for the Trades

Planning continues for our inaugural Made for the Trades (Boots & Bling) fundraiser, scheduled for February 19, 2027. This event will bring together business partners, alumni, supporters, and community members to celebrate technical education while raising support for student success initiatives.

Please be thinking about potential sponsors, auction items, and community partners who may be interested in supporting this exciting event. We look forward to making this a signature WTC tradition.
